About
Emma’s work is fuelled by her love of colour and texture. There is a peaceful urgency to much of what she creates as she leaps from mosaic to yarn with an artistic ease that captures the beauty of both. Her work and inspiration is perfectly bottled and presented to you in the outrageously colourful studio that is her ‘Atelier’ (working artist studio in case you’re wondering!!!)
Taking inspiration from the patterns on broken china and the infinite possibilities with yarn she turns everyday objects into things of beauty that delight the eye and feed the soul. There is humour to be found in much of her work and in all of her classes.
A class with Emma is like no other. Described as a pamper day for the soul, her classes are so much more than simply learning a new skill. She happily shares all that she knows, the techniques and rules and most importantly how to bend them. Her joyous exuberance is infectious, leaving you feeling uplifted, inspired and brimming with creativity.
Rapidly gaining recognition for her yarn bomb installations in and around Bath Emma has gained support and sponsorship for her work whilst raising money for local charities along the way. She has a loyal team of ladies who meet with her every month to create the next big installation and together they are changing the world one stitch at a time.
“It’s all about colour for me. I need to surround my self with it. Yarn, mosaic tiles, rugs on walls, beaded chandeliers it really doesn’t matter so long as it envelopes me and takes me to the creative place that lies within."
Mother to Lili, keeper of two dachshunds and Nichiren Buddhist, Emma’s work is an expression of her life spreading hope and happiness in all that she does.
